Flee Fornication

Spread the love

In our age of promiscuity and sexual immorality, the Word of the Living God still speaks loud to those who have ears to hear.

Young and old alike are bombarded daily by all media outlets with the lust and debauchery of the wicked. Without shame, these corrupt individuals and their enablers parade before others without discrimination, bringing wrath upon their own heads and our world.

The complete Scripture says, “1Co 6:18,  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.” That is the reason why these sinful and villainous people “treasure up unto themselves wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.” Romans 2:5

Many who call themselves Christians, not only approve of the immoral behavior of the wicked but also participate in their evil deeds. “Titus 1:16  They profess that they know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”

Therefore, there are many called Christians who in reality are just reprobates. They deceive themselves and others, they follow reprobate pastors and leaders who do not know or believe the Scriptures. These people are everywhere, in churches, on TV, on the radio, on computers, etc, they have a big voice because of all the media outlets available today. Actually, that is the main reason for their proliferation, the huge influence of the media, the lying, false media.

Fornication is a grievous sin but the degradation of the human soul is not new. It started with the first man, Adam, and his pride in believing the lie that he could attain to be like the Most High God on his own terms. God, his creator, gave him a command, “Gen 2:17,  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.” And he did. The man died spiritually and all mankind is born deaf, blind, and spiritually dead thereafter. The natural state of mankind is a fallen state.

Man in his natural fallen state cannot discern between good and evil, because his nature is “evil continuously” Gen 6:5. The only thing he can do is imagine his own standard of good and evil which always will be contrary to God’s. Man cannot know or understand that God determines what is good and evil in His character as Creator and Maker of humankind. Only the people with ears to hear will understand and obey His commandments.

Flee fornication is a command. God in strong terms forbade His people Israel to commit fornication in the Old Covenant, neither physically nor spiritually. They were called to be saints (separated for God’s service), and they were called to be pure and not get contaminated with the ungodly people and the false religions which surrounded them, but they failed. Ancient Israel did not listen to God but committed fornication making alliances (physically) with wicked nations and worshipping (spiritually) their false gods. That is why God finally destroyed them.

Fornication is a sin against God and oneself. It dishonors and defiles those who engaged in it. Fornication brings wrath upon one’s head. It destroys lives; fornication like adultery is a sin against our neighbors and our own bodies, and we reap its terrible consequences.

In Romans 1:24, 26, 29 God describes what are those consequences, “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves”, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature”, “Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, etc.”

Notice that God himself gave them up to vile affections because they did not want to have God in their knowledge. They changed the truth for the lie and God delivered them to their filthy minds to practice all kinds of iniquity and deceit. They professed to be godly but in deeds, they showed the wickedness of their evil hearts. These are the hypocrites who have the appearance of being alive but in truth they are dead.

Jesus confronted them in John 8:41  “You do the deeds of your father” and they immediately responded, “We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.” They recognized the gravity of Jesus’ words but were unable to understand what the Lord was telling them until Jesus had to plainly say, “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” (44)

Fornication, adultery, and all other manners of sexual sin are satanic. The heart of unregenerate men is ruled by the lust of the flesh and the devil inflames it.

True Christians, those who have been regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit, do not practice fornication because they have been cleansed of all their filthiness, and if somebody called a Christian lives in that state, he has to examine himself deeply and change or he is just another lying hypocrite who deceives himself; maybe God has already delivered him to his lust.

Flee fornication is a command of God to His people. God commands us to get away as far as we can from the sin of fornication because of its dire consequences. His people are the only ones enabled to hear, believe, and obey. Act 15:20 says, “But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.” These were the ordinances that God gave the first gentile believers. They had to separate from the world of the other gentiles that did not know the true God. They were called to be saints (separated for God’s service)

There are many other Scriptures that we should read where God reiterates His judgment upon the fornicators and adulterers of the world, but most specifically on those who pretend to be Christians. We are called to keep ourselves pure and not to satisfy the lust of the flesh, “Col 3:5  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry”

An example of inordinate affection (common today) is adultery in the workplace. Some women fall prey to whoremongers who have a wife but feel free to deceive silly women who believe their lies about leaving their wives to marry them. These women feel justified to pursue men like that because no one tells them that they are committing fornication and adultery; no one tells them that, not even their pastors or male relatives.

We all need to read the Scriptures of Truth to know the Living God who not only is pure, gracious, and righteous but also just. He will execute judgment on all those who hate and disobey Him.

More Scriptures to read: 1 Corinthians 6:13; 7:2; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 1:7; Revelation 14:8; 17:2, 4; 18:3, 9; 19:2

May God bless you in discerning the truth of your way and His Grace be with you.
