The Bible talks about a “chosen people”. God chose these people to be His special people who were called out of the world to follow Him in obedience, reverence and loving submission.
These people started from a man named Abraham. God commanded him to leave the land of his birth and travel far away to a land that would be given to him and his descendants if they would follow and obey God and His precepts.
For four hundred years, these people were slaves in the land of Egypt, but God delivered them from the hand of their oppressors and guided them into Canaan, the promised land.
The descendants of Abraham became a great nation and God himself ruled over them until they decided to put God out and get a king like the other nations that surrounded them who knew not God.
One of these kings was King David to whom God gave the promise that from His descendants there was going to be the King of King with an everlasting Kingdom.
This promised King arrived about a thousand years later in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the promised King, Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies and all the promises given in the Scriptures.
One of those promises was that Abraham was going to be the father of many nations. This happened when the Hebrews rejected Christ and His disciples went to all the other nations to preach the good news of the Messiah. All the chosen from the nations who believed the Gospel would eventually become the Chosen people of God.
So, today, the true Chosen People are the true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the true Messiah and eternal Life.
