Is The Bible Difficult to Understand?

That’s what priests, pastors, preachers, and even so called theologians tried to make people believe. Satan, of course, has always been behind their endeavour, because he doesn’t want to be known; he wants to advance his fight against Christ and the people of God.

The enemies have succeeded, so far, because very few people go to the Bible with the confidence that they will find the truth. Most people think that they cannot know or interpret the Scriptures on their own. They feel the need to use other books with the interpretaions of men to study the Bible.

The fact is that the Bible interprets itself. God guided His people in the Old Covenant, ancient Israel, and gave them His Word. They were given many details as to God’s plan for the redemption of His people. God laid out His way and work in the eyes of His elect, because He wanted them to know Him and to understand Him as Jeremiah 9:24 clearly states.

The Bible reveals God, the Creator. He is also the Saviour and the Redeemer of His saints. The Bible is not a book for the world, who do not know God. It is not a book of psychology to help you get along with your spouse, or to solve your financial problems. The Bible is the spiritual book given by God so man can know and find the remedy for his spiritual bankruptcy.

The Bible is a spiritual book, only. It is the only book given to humankind by the Living God, that they can see their terrible predicament. Although, the people of God are the only ones who benefit from it.

To those who say and proclaim that the Bible is difficult to understand, I will ask: How many times have you read the Bible? How much of your life do you spend searching the Scriptures with the sole purpose of knowing God and searching for the truth about Him and us?

John 5:39 “Search the Scriptures; for…they testify of me”

Study the Bible and do not fall into the trap of thinking that you cannot understand it. The Spirit of God may guide you and you may find the truth, and the truth shall make you free, indeed.
