Eph_5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanks should be given to God the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, because that is His will.
Col_1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
He chose us and made us partakers of the inheritance of the Saints in light. Even when we did nothing to deserve it.
1Th_5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
That is why we give thanks first and foremost for our salvation, and for giving us the wonderful gift of Faith.
Heb_13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
That is our living sacrifice. Jesus Christ the Lamb of God crucified on behalf of His people, sacrificed once for all, that we could come boldly to the throne of grace and offer our sacrifice of Thanksgiving.
2Th_2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.
